Dale Tyler was born in 1979 in Leicester. She lived there for 27 years until 2006, when she finally had enough of the crowds, overpriced wine and taking her life in her own hands on nights out, and moved to Burgundy, France. She lives with her boyfriend at his country home, but owns a small, infamously surreal townhouse which has inspired her current work in progress, Rue Des Cordeliers.

Dale started writing at 16, and published No Big Deal in 2005. The 2007 re-launch will precede the release of her second novel, Out Of The Picture, due for publication late 2007.

She chose to become an author due to a lack of books for women who aren’t into romance, weddings and babies. One too many formulaic chick-lit novels pushed her to decide that if she wanted a job doing, she’d do it herself. She now wants the world to see that you don’t have to look like a librarian and wear tweed and elbow patches to be an author.

By day, Dale works as a true life feature writer for the UK women’s magazines and newspapers. However, don’t let this put you off - she is self employed and hates being referred to as a journalist… If she could do any job, it would be to restore old buildings. It just doesn’t pay the bills so well.

In her free time, Dale enjoys good food, luxury, fast cars, unusual French soirees, making lists and watching trash TV. She hopes to one day own a pink Noble M12 to give the French an actual reason to stare.

Dale lists James, her friend Mitch, her ability to attract the unhinged of the world from 50 paces, and ‘just being Dale Tyler’ as her biggest inspirations.
